The Event Stylist

Nice To Meet You!

Hi, I'm the detailed obsessed girl behind the pretty!

With countless events under my belt, I have been planning, designing and producing with A Perfect Setting Weddings and Events, Inc. since January 2004. My acute attention to detail with an emphasis on room transformation, table top design and wow factor has brought me to the attention of many, including the historic and renowned Abyssinian Baptist Church in the City of New York, for whom I served as the church wedding coordinator for 10 years.

I obtained a BS in Electrical Engineering from Binghamton University and before my career as an Event Stylist I held various IT analyst roles at Goldman Sachs and Alliance Bernstein until I found my true calling, passion and purpose. This unique background imbues me with a methodical, precise and powerful demeanor. I understand the importance of flow and have an acute eye for precision unlike any other. I'm known for going above and beyond when it comes to details - the "pretty" elements as well as the unseen that makes an event a success.

My chosen profession has been the perfect outlet for my love of building relationships and curating extraordinary events. Due to the continually positive and personal working relationships, I often miss clients once the event is over and it isn't unusual for them to become extended family.

Thanks for putting a pause in your day to learn more about me and APSWE. I look forward to bringing my passion and enthusiasm for planning and design to each and every event, including yours.

Eventfully yours,

Tamieka L. Jones

Fun Facts: Tamieka 101

My nickname is…

Fancy! And it describes me to a tee.

A snack I cannot live without…

Guacamole with lots of cilantro and salty tortilla chips.

My favorite accessory is…

Handbags! I have a serious weakness for impeccable craftmanship and unique hardware.

One décor element I dislike…

Chair covers.  They are not chic and so passé!

My personal style is…

Sophisticated, classic and chic. My favorite designers are St. John, Lafayette 148 New York and Elie Tahari.

I absolutely cannot…

Watch horror movies.  They give me nightmares.

When I am not working on events…

I enjoy teaching Sunday school, being pampered at the Oasis Spa (hot lava stone...por favor!), shopping, and spending quality time with my family, friends and sorority sisters.

I am happiest when…

Dancing. I studied under the tutelage of Steps on Broadway, LaRocque Bey and Ballet Hispanico just to name a few. Zumba is my current obsession!
